Video: Mohawks and marketing

Since I got a very positive response to my first video post here about how you can’t inch your way to magnificence, I thought I’d do a similar one.

This video is about branding, and why mine can never involve pushy marketing.

What does your brand need to include or exclude? Tell me in the comments!

P.S. If you’re not sure, sign up for Mo’Cash Mo’Joy and get a free 30-minute Marketing Check-up!. We’ll figure it out together.

I know that you do! :)

I think my favorite part is *zooming face close up* “That lady is so INTENSE.” with the birds cawing in the background. Very atmospheric. ;)

I know how you feel. I can’t really be intimidating on purpose. I was never intimidating enough to be truly punk rock :P (It might be the height getting us down Catherine, ’cause I’m 5’2″, and I sported a rainbow mohawk for a while too.)

    Thanks Catherine!

I also think that says something magnificent about old ladies – not getting sucked into superficials, just seeing straight to the heart of things. Heh.

:) I’m attempting to get more creative with the video posts, it was nice of the birds to co-operate.

Of course, if either of us wanted to be intimidating on a regular basis, we’d be awesome at it, height be damned. Clearly we are just too sweet for it. :)

    You’re very welcome!

Yeah, old ladies are kick-ass. I generally enjoy chatting with them.

    BUT NOT THAT DAY.

You make my life so much better!

    Catherine, I adore you.

I’m very short, and I spent years wishing that people wouldn’t call me cute. Grrr. I wanted to be pretty, or gorgeous, or impressive, or anything but cute. Well, now that I’m 51, I really don’t care. “Cute” has turned into enthusiastic, supportive, excited, warm, and funny. It’s who I am. Yay!

You’re the best – and your default is why we love you :)

I’ve been told (by some) that I’m intimidating but I don’t feel that way or even try – Ack!

Mostly, I’m quirky, which may shade into down right odd at times, with a side of optimism all served up on a plate of truthfulness that sometimes goes a bit far (I try to watch that, but frequently forget the social niceties).

And that is why I keep showing up. :)

I once got told that I would be cute while holding a hand grenade. At the time I was flattered – because I was very young – but later on I realised that was kinda *totally shithouse*. I’m unthreatening while holding a deadly weapon? Grrrr!

So you can imagine my reaction when one of my clients admitted that I was slightly intimidating.

    YAY!

  • https://CashAndJoy.com Catherine Caine

That sounds like a damn tasty salad. Yum.

And it turns out I can be cute and powerful. Yay again!

[...] Mohawks & Marketing. I adore Catherine Caine. She’s #1 on my list of people to take an e-course with, when I can afford it (hint, hint). She’s recently started putting out videos on her site and this may only be the second one, but by far, my favourite. [...]
